For Kylie Minogue’s AFL Grand Final announcement, TYBB was commissioned to create a custom disco football - transforming an icon of Australian sporting culture into something altogether more Kylie.

Hand-fabricated by TYBB, the AFL football was completely clad in individually applied mirror tiles, turning the familiar form into a high-shine sculptural object designed to sparkle on camera. A meeting of sport, pop and disco, the piece was created specifically for Kylie’s announcement content shoot.

What began on our workbench quickly took on a life of its own. The disco football became a defining visual of the campaign, appearing across Melbourne in large-scale paste-ups before being immortalised several storeys high on Flinders Street as part of Adnate’s monumental Kylie mural.

From our studio, to Kylie, to the Melbourne skyline. Not bad for a little disco footy.
